Careers Unlocked 2016

Date: 30th April 2016
Time: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Venue: Faculty of Business and Accounting, University Malaya.

Careers Unlocked! is a one day career fair aimed at secondary school leavers and students.

Potentially the first of its kind, this career fair aspired to enlighten secondary school students of their career options and the many pathways available to them.

Stemming from our observation that most career talks are targeted at tertiary students, we wanted to extend this opportunity to secondary school students to enable them to make more informed decisions when selecting a course for university.

PFAA collaborated with Young Corporate Malaysians (YCM) in organizing this event, as part of their CSR programmes. We leveraged on the extensive network YCM members, many of who are young professionals, to facilitate this event and provide mentorship to students.

Careers Unlocked was officiated by YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Madinah bt Mohamad, the former Secretary-General of Ministry of Education. She read YB Dato’ Seri Mahdzir Khalid’s speech, whom at the eleventh hour was unable to make it. The Minister said career planning was never easy even for bright students, and that Careers Unlocked was a good platform for students to seek career guidance. He hoped that this would become an annual event and would involve more industries and students.
