About Youth Economic Forum 2016
The inaugural Youth Economic Forum (YEF) aims to be the preeminent national gathering today of some of the most respected and influential economic thinkers and policy-makers of Malaysia. The forum provides an idea-focused platform for public intellectuals to inform, engage and discuss with youth on economic planning and governance that would affect the country's future and its role in global economy in the 21st century.
In 2016, after stepping down as the Chair of ASEAN, Malaysia was honoured to take the helm as the host of World Economic Forum on ASEAN 2016 in Kuala Lumpur. Leaders in Malaysia including Tan Sri Anthony Fernandes, Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed and Dato' Seri Nazir Razak were invited to share their wisdom and thoughts on the world economy, alongside distinguished speakers and audience from other countries.
Continuing our support for open and intellectual discourse, the Perdana Fellows Alumni Association (PFAA), in partnership with the Young Corporate Malaysians (YCM) and the Nation Building School (NBS), puts together the Youth Economic Forum (YEF), which draws inspirations from the WEF. It is a platform where we promise to deliver you a meaningful discourse with the best brains and the powerful that hold the economic veins of Malaysia. Featuring leaders from the government, private sectors and international organisations, we seek to look at our economy from the institutional point of view.
